Student Life

Arts and Music

Another language in which to think, feel and be heard.

Arts hero

A student on our homepage once described discovering guitar and singing here almost by accident — the balance of games and studies simply left room for it. That is how creativity usually arrives: not by mandate, but by opportunity. St. Peter’s builds those opportunities into the week — to observe closely, practise a craft, interpret ideas and stand up in front of people with something to show.

Visual arts

Art runs through the school as a compulsory subject for much of the journey and as an ICSE Group III option for those who want to take it further. Drawing, painting, craft and design lead to exhibition work — because art that nobody sees teaches only half its lesson.

Music

Music sits within the primary and middle-school programme and continues as a club activity — vocal and instrumental, practice room to stage. Performance occasions across the year give young musicians the thing practice alone cannot: an audience.

Drama, speaking and writing

  • Drama and the end-of-semester Variety Programme — the creative calendar’s main stage.
  • Elocution in English and Hindi.
  • Debate, storytelling and recitation.
  • Creative writing and the school newsletter.
  • Photography and visual documentation of school life.
  • Literature festivals, reading and spoken-English activities.
