About

Leadership

Stewarding a heritage institution with clarity, care and accountability.

Leadership hero

Leading a 120-year-old boarding school carries a double duty: protect what generations have built, and make certain that everything — academics, residential care, safety — meets the needs of children today, not children of 1950. That balance demands visible accountability, open communication with families, and relentless attention to learning, wellbeing and safeguarding. It is the standard our leadership holds itself to.

From the Principal

“St. Peter’s has grown from its early residential roots into a vibrant and inclusive learning community. Even as we modernise and transform, our commitment to strong values, purposeful education and service must remain constant.”

— Mr Brian Robbins, Principal

For more than a century, generations of students have learned within the shared life of this school. Our task is to keep that experience intellectually challenging, emotionally supportive and grounded in respect. We want confident learners who keep their humility; independent young people who understand interdependence; capable individuals willing to serve. So academics travel alongside sport, creative work, leadership, friendship and daily responsibility — and in residential life, the ordinary habits of each day become opportunities to grow.

A strong school is a partnership. Parents deserve clear information and regular communication. Teachers and residential staff must share one understanding of each student’s needs. And students must always feel able to ask for help. If you visit us — and I hope you will — test us against those promises.
