The Admission Assessment

Not a hurdle to trip over. A conversation about where your child is.

Let us take the anxiety out of this straight away: the admission assessment is not designed to define your child through one score. Its purpose is diagnostic — to understand current learning, spot strengths, and identify where support might help. It is one input into the overall review, alongside school records and the family interaction. Children who are simply themselves on the day do fine.

Who is assessed, and in what

Applicants to Class III and above complete an assessment in English, Mathematics and Hindi, pitched to the entry class and the applicant’s previous curriculum. For senior-school entry, additional subject-specific assessment may apply where the academic team approves it. Requirements for younger classes are confirmed separately at enquiry.

What the assessment considers

AreaExamples
LanguageReading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, written expression and communicating ideas.
MathematicsNumber understanding, calculation, reasoning and problem-solving appropriate to the class.
HindiReading, language understanding and written work at an age-appropriate level.
InteractionA conversation with the Principal or academic leader — about interests, schooling and settling in, not trick questions.

How to prepare (and how not to)

  • Do: keep normal study habits, review recent schoolwork, and ensure a good night’s sleep.
  • Do: tell us in advance about any assessed learning needs — reasonable arrangements can be considered.
  • Do not: hire crash coaching or drill past papers. An assessment gamed is a placement got wrong — and your child pays for that later.

Applicants outside Maharashtra or India may be assessed online in specified cases; Admissions will confirm the procedure and any later in-person verification.
