Plenty of schools publish values. The honest question a parent should ask is: can you see them on an ordinary Tuesday? At St. Peter’s, we think you can — in a senior student helping a homesick junior settle in, in a house team conceding a point they could have disputed, in a plate finished rather than wasted. Our motto, Ut Prosim — That I May Serve — sets the tone for all of it.
Our vision
“To provide a safe and supportive environment that develops future-oriented learners and influencers who create positive change through service, empathy, inclusiveness and sustainability.”
Our mission
We exist to give every student a secure, accommodating environment that supports their emotional and physical wellbeing — because no child learns well while anxious or unseen. On that foundation, our curriculum and wider school life help students adapt, build relevant skills and respond thoughtfully to a future none of us can fully predict.
We aim to raise young people who make purposeful decisions; who act with integrity, loyalty, care and respect; and who extend that care to other people and to the environment. This mission is not delivered through assemblies alone. It lives in teaching, residential routines, sport, creative work, leadership opportunities, friendships and service.
Six values, practised daily
| Value | What it looks like here |
|---|---|
| Service | Community initiatives, SUPW, and a culture where helping is expected, not exceptional. |
| Empathy | Pastoral care and peer support that teach children to notice, and respond to, one another. |
| Inclusiveness | A co-educational community of many regions, faiths and backgrounds sharing one life. |
| Sustainability | Eco camps, nature walks and daily habits shaped by a green hill campus worth protecting. |
| Integrity | Honest work, fair play and owning mistakes — in the examination hall and on the field. |
| Loyalty | House spirit, lasting friendships and an alumni bond that spans generations. |
